About the TEAM
The Synthetic Beat Brigade is a team of experienced music producers, musicians and AI specialists who are pushing the boundaries of music production. They use AI to create new and innovative sounds and to bring their music to life in new and exciting ways. The team includes Dennis van Leeuwen (Day Four MGMT, Band Member KANE), Jurriaan Balhuizen (Postofffice), Bram Kniest (Drummer, Go back to the Zoo), Zoe Low (Professional singer) , Samet Yilmaz, Jascha Huisman, Sjoerd van Oosten (Handpicked agencies), Nicola Hepp (The Movers). Together, they are creating the future of music.
About the SONG
How would you touch me is a song about unattainable love between a human and an AI
About the HUMAN-AI PROCESS
Setting ground rules: The team decided to use AI for every step of the production process, and to use an analytical approach rather than trusting their instincts. Every decision had to be backed by data and AI.
Deciding on an overall theme: The team analyzed all Eurovision songs from 2010 to 2019 to find a popular theme. They found that love songs were the most common, and that songs about loneliness, regret, and heartache were also popular. They also found that the tempo of songs had decreased in recent years.
Generating ideas: The team used several large language models (LLMs) to generate ideas for the song. They wanted the song to be bold and striking, and they eventually landed on the concept of a Shakespearean song about unattainable love between a human and an AI.
Lyrics: The team used an older open-source GPT-2 model that had been retrained with lyrics to generate the lyrics for the song. They wanted the lyrics to be creative and catchy, and they also wanted them to have a specific rhyming scheme.
The song: The team used a variety of AI tools to generate the music for the song. They wanted the song to sound good and to be something that could be played on the radio. They also wanted to use AI to create realistic vocals.
